NFL Note: Michael Vick to Play Before Kevin Kolb… Edge Signs with Seattle

August 25, 2009 by dwil

Kevin Kolb said he was confident that he is the second-string quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Andy Reid appears to have some different thoughts about the matter. In a press conference just finished Reid said:

What I’ll do with the starters is, I’ve got ‘em down for three quarters – we’ll see how the game goes. And then with the quarterback situation, Michael [Vick] will have an opportunity to play Thursday and Kevin Kolb will be ready also. Kevin will take the fourth quarter. And we’ll see how we use Michael…. Realistically it’s been two years. We’ll throw him in there, give him a couple of shots, and see what he can do…. I’m just going to take it play by play and see how he adjusts to the game speed. If that’s a problem I’d probably discontinue the reps but if I feel like he’s adjusting okay I probably will give him an opportunity here and there…. He won’t play in the fourth quarter – Michael won’t.

Interesting.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Edgerrin James signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks. James had been working out hard in Miami. The Seahawks are probably thinking that James will be primed to play twice against the team that released him, division rivals, the Arizona Cardinals.

    Interesting…………but also smart.

If I was Andy I wouldn’t play Mcnabb more then 2 series. Then sit him down and let Vick play the rest of the game.

Boy Philly is gonna sell some papers on Friday with the hate that they will come up with on Thursday night.

I can hear Eskin and the other bigots crying for Kolb to get a fair chance now……LOL!!!!
